Summertime Fun
"Summertime, summertime, sum-, sum-, summertime, summertime." I love summertime. Long, hot summer days followed by cool nighttime breezes, with in-between time spent swimming, picnicking, shopping, relaxing, and best of all, creative sewing. And right smack-dab in the middle of summertime fun is July Fourth. What a great time of year to sew hot fashion trends and cool classic home decor.
Let's start with Fourth of July. You'll love sewing up these red-white-and-blue projects. Whether you want to Let Freedom Fly or enjoy a picnic with Stars & Stripes Forever or simply snuggle up with that special someone in a Bandanna Bonanza quilt, you'll set of your own sewing fireworks with these hot summer projects.
For wearable fireworks, try the Redo-in-Red denim vest. Sewing fashion is all about changing ready-to-wear to show your creativity. Look for more of this fun-filled hot fashion trend when you embellish old jeans with chili peppers to create these Hot Mama Jeans. Spicy!
And don't forget to get some sun. Whether you like your sun at the beach, in a boat or in your very own backyard, you'll love It's a Wrap swimsuit coverup. Take It's a Wrap wherever you go in the unique Buckle-Up Tote. Don't forget your sunblock!
"Are the Stars Out Tonight," you ask? If so, make this chifon ruffled shawl for a romantic evening stroll. Carry the Beaded Beauty Bag and you'll be ready for any nighttime summer party. What a classy lady you are.
If this sewing is still way too hot for you, cool things down by making a clean and classic bathroom set in crisp summer white accented with black. Called Black & White in Bias and Monogrammed Towel Set, you'll love these contemporary looks. Did I mention monograms are a growing home decor trend? You can relax in style after making the monogrammed Bedside Companions and embellishing some pretty sheets as shown how in Embroidered Bed Linens.
Well, if you're going to get all this summertime fun sewing done, you really need to stop reading and start sewing.
Until next time,
